McDaniel College has received a $10,000 donation from higher education partner CampusWorks to support an endowed scholarship through the McDaniel Women’s Leadership Network.

The scholarship is awarded annually to an incoming first-year student who has exhibited leadership potential through academic, athletic, and/or community service.

Students do not apply separately for the scholarship but are selected from the admissions applicant pool. The scholarship is renewable all four years.

“We at CampusWorks are profoundly honored to contribute to the McDaniel Women’s Leadership Network Endowed Scholarship Fund,” said Liz Murphy, chief executive officer and chairman of the board for CampusWorks. “This donation underscores our commitment to developing the next generation of female leaders. Education is the most powerful tool we can provide, and supporting these promising young women in their academic and leadership journeys fills me with immense pride and hope for the future.”

Murphy has also personally donated to help fund a new experiential and emergency use fund, also through the McDaniel Women’s Leadership Network, to provide grants to current McDaniel students whose financial circumstances may prevent them from pursuing undergraduate research, internships, study abroad, licensures or certifications, and more.

McDaniel College President Julia Jasken leads the advisory council for the McDaniel Women’s Leadership Network, an exclusive group of women leaders who are focused on supporting women in pursuing their personal and professional goals.

The McDaniel Women’s Leadership Network comprises alums and friends of McDaniel College who are working to build connections and develop programs to attract and engage women in the life of the college.
