Mount St. Mary’s University Opens New Timothy E. Trainor School of Health Professions

October 22, 2025

Mount St. Mary’s University will celebrate the official opening of its new Timothy E. Trainor School of Health Professions with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tours on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The event marks a milestone in the university’s vision to expand access to high-quality healthcare education and to respond to pressing regional needs in healthcare and behavioral services.

The new school already includes the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis, which supports the adjacent Blue Peak Center for Applied Behavior Analysis—a state-of-the-art facility offering evidence-based behavioral and developmental services to children– and provides clinical training opportunities for students in the applied behavior analysis degree program. In July 2025, the university secured provisional accreditation from ARC-PA to launch its physician assistant program beginning January 2026, further bolstering its role in addressing the healthcare workforce shortages.

“The opening of the Timothy E. Trainor School of Health Professions is a defining moment for the Mount. We’re answering a critical regional need by preparing healthcare professionals who are not only highly skilled but deeply committed to compassionate service to others. This is where purpose meets practice,” said Christine McCauslin, Ph.D., dean of the School of Health Professions.

Attendees on October 19 will be invited to tour the facility, engage with faculty, and learn more about how Mount St. Mary’s is preparing clinicians who embody a mission-driven vision of care—compassionate, evidence-based, equitable and thoughtful. With strategic investments such as scholarships and community partnerships, the Timothy E. Trainor School of Health Professions aims to train providers who will both serve and transform healthcare delivery in the region.
