Loyola University Maryland will offer two new study abroad programs for the 2022-2023 academic year—one in Seoul, South Korea, and one in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
“Studying abroad prepares students to become Ignatian citizens who can discern with global competence and promote inclusiveness and respect for others with international responsibility,” said André Colombat, Ph.D., dean of international programs at Loyola.
Loyola sponsors study abroad opportunities in more than 20 countries, and more than 60% of Loyola’s students participate. Students typically study abroad their junior year for a single semester, although full-year, summer, and holiday study tours are also available.
“The popularity of study abroad programs speaks to the value of an international education experience,” said Colombat. “The benefits are varied and numerous, from being more competitive in a global market to building life skills such as independence and resilience.”
