In Maryland, graduates of MICUA member institutions have been named Teacher of the Year in Baltimore City and half of Maryland's 23 counties. County winners will be candidates for Maryland Teacher of the Year; the winner will be announced at a banquet held in Baltimore on October 3.  Last year April Todd, a graduate of Washington College, won the State's top award, as the 2007 Maryland Teacher of the Year.
