Johns Hopkins University has been named the No. 1 best college in Maryland, according to a new 2020 ranking by Niche.com.
The Baltimore institution tops the state-wide list followed by University of Maryland, College Park and Loyola University Maryland.
Pittsburgh-based Niche compiled the ranking as part of its annual "2020 Best Colleges" package, which compares more than 1,000 colleges and universities across the U.S. using a number of factors.
In the national ranking, Johns Hopkins falls at No. 27, with University of Maryland at No. 104, out of 1,626 schools.
