The Loyola/Notre Dame Library (LNDL) will become an affiliate member of the University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) Library Consortium on July 1, 2016.
The USMAI Library Consortium includes 16 member libraries at the public universities and colleges in the State of Maryland. LNDL was chosen for membership largely because of the uniqueness of its collections, and it is the first private academic library in Maryland to join USMAI.
“This opens a path for greater collaboration among public and private academic libraries in Maryland. We will have access to more than nine million books and journals located throughout Maryland, increasing the number of resources we currently provide to students and faculty for teaching and research purposes,” said Barbara Preece, director of LNDL.
