Loyola University Maryland President Rev. Brian Linnane announced he will be taking a sabbatical from the school for six months this fall.
Loyola’s Board of Trustees approved the break and appointed Executive Vice President Susan Donovan acting president.
“As I prepare to take this sabbatical, I express yet again my deep faith in our community’s ability to continue to advance Loyola in fulfilling our important mission. The Jesuit tradition values seeking out time for reflection, and I am grateful to the trustees for granting me this opportunity,” Linnane said in a news release.
“I look forward to returning to the university with a renewed sense of purpose, with an enriched perspective, and with the joy I feel every day in being part of such a dynamic, thriving campus community.”
