Washington College recently rose in the 2020 national rankings for multiple collegiate ranking systems.
The College increased by 10 points in the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education rankings. This system includes all American universities and colleges. WC is now number 221, as opposed to its previous position at 231. Compared to just American liberal arts colleges and universities, WC is ranked 79, increasing by seven points from the 2019 survey. WC also is listed as number 91 of Best Value Schools for its higher quality education at a lower cost, according to President Kurt Landgraf.
“We know the quality of what we offer here, but it is encouraging to have it recognized,” Landgraf said.
Some factors that determine these rankings include retention rate, alumni donations, class sizes, and student surveys.
