WBAL-TV 11 to broadcast 'Project CommUNITY-CommUNITY Conversations' Taped at Loyola University Maryland

WBAL-TV 11 will broadcast a one-hour prime-time special focusing on many of the issues facing Baltimore today.

Scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, "Project CommUNITY -- CommUNITY Conversations" will be hosted by 11 News anchors Jason Newton and Deborah Weiner.

The program features a four-member panel, including newly-confirmed Baltimore Police Commissioner Michael Harrison, Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, WEAA-FM radio host and Loyola University Maryland Professor Dr. Karsonya Whitehead and city schools CEO Sonja Santelises.

The audience includes community stakeholders, including New York Times writer and University of Baltimore Professor D. Watkins, former NFL player and community activist Aaron Maybin, as well as business owner and author Chris Wilson.

Taped before a live audience on the campus of Loyola University Maryland, the conversations center on issues that divide the community, like race, social justice and crime. The program also highlights the best that Baltimore has to offer through the WBAL-TV 11 News "CommUNITY Champions" reports.
