Hood College hosted 15 STEM scholars from the Frederick County Public Schools Young Scholars Program on June 27 for a workshop. They heard from the Hood admission team, took a campus tour and participated in mini course sessions in biology and mathematics.
“As part of the Hood NSTEP program, which provides scholarships to students desiring to become secondary STEM teachers, we are excited to build the partnership between Hood College and Frederick County Public Schools,” said Jennifer Cuddapah, Ed.D., associate professor of education at Hood. “Hosting the FCPS high school Young Scholars this summer is one way for our faculty to connect with local students and is also a great recruiting potential for Hood.”
